MARSEILLE, FRANCE

Travel Photography in Marseille, France

Marseille is a dream destination for travel and street photographers. Each district has a unique character.

Le Vieux Port area is lined with bars and restaurants and is often visited by super yachts, it is also home to the daily fish market. Fish are unloaded at the quay side and sold directly to customers queueing beside the boats. The number of boats and market stalls can vary greatly.

Le Panier is a touristy area where the streets are covered in street art and graffiti. There are bars and restaurants and can get very crowded in peak season. Le Panier is a maze of small streets on a hill above Le Vieux Port.

The Cours Julien is a less touristy area due to it's location being further from Le Vieux Port. There are streets covered in street art and graffiti and a brocante that is so full of stock that the owner will not allow you to enter for safety reasons. The Cours Julien really comes to life at night with bars and restaurants surrounding a square with open air seating and a pond.

Noailles has a vibrant street market and has a more African feel. It is a great place for street photography and there are many bargains to be had around the market. Sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by, taking street photos in this unique spot.

You will find incredible photo opportunities all over Marseille and you are never far from a street market.
